Creative Monday....

Us "Vintage Ladies" had another get-together today, this time at Sarah's home, and ohhh what a treat was in store behind the beautiful front door......
Waiting for us was a table full of Christmas goodies to create with; Bay Leaves, Cinnamon Sticks, lots of primitive fabrics, vintage buttons and of course the faithful Bernina Sewing Machine!
As Sarah prepared a welcome coffee and cake, I had a good old look round her beautiful home, snapping away at anything I thought my lovely readers would enjoy drooling over.....

With Coffee and Cake served the creating commenced.... I chose to make a Festive Christmas Garland made with homespun style fabric, bay leaves and little silver bells and Mary created a gorgeous button bracelet, all under the watchful eye of our host Sarah.

Not only was the house a real feast for the eyes, but the fragrance in the crafting room was wonderful too, so festive! We were creating with many Christmas scents; Bay Leaves, Cinnamon Sticks, Cloves it was wonderful.
Above is the start of my garland, lots of fresh bay leaves threaded onto string with little silver bells dotted here and there. Below are examples of the button bracelets that Mary and Sarah had created.
As Sarah went off to warm up lunch, I took the opportunity to have another little photo session, finding more treasures dotted around her home....
Below is an amazing handmade heirloom necklace that Sarah created using collected items from her family.. Mother/Grandmother...

I was making good headway with my garland, here it is just before we broke for Lunch..

Lunch is served..... Gorgeous homemade soup, pumpkin bread and sparkling fruity water.. gorgeous!

Back to the workshop after lunch to put the finishing touches to our garlands and bracelets, and then to complete a perfect creative Monday some homemade Battenburg Cake and Tea. Thank you so much Sarah, can't wait for our next get-together xx

Final Preparations!!

This week so far has been a busy one, making final preparations for next weeks Wealden Mid Winter Fair. Monday was spent with a very talented friend of mine, Carol, an interior designer who has oodles of experience with Vendor Fairs. Carol helped me mock up the design for my booth at next weeks Fair, we had great fun trying to design an eye catching set up in a small 6ft x 6ft space.... challenging!!
Back at home at the craft table I'm busy finishing off my Lavender Cushions, above, and Festive Banners, top photo and below......
Prior to that I had a very inspiring weekend attending Brightons MADE Fair... this is a wonderful, creative fair, bursting with a wealth of talented people. It is the second time I've attended the fair as a consumer and it is my favourite fair of the year. For details on MADE please click here!!!
Today is spent packing up props and stock ready for next week... there is so much to prepare and trying to juggle Fair arrangements and normal home life has been tricky to say the least, my family have been so supportive and now there is light at the end of the tunnel!!! The fair is next week, which is very exciting and then my Christmas Shopping must commence in abundance as none has been done so far and we only have one month to go!! Scary!!!
Well, if time permits I may be able to squeeze one more blog post in before the Fair, but if not I promise to produce tales and photos from the event next week. Hope to see some of you there.

The Vintage Ladies at...."Mary's House"

Here is a real treat for my regular readers, some of you I know have been waiting to see these photos for a few weeks now, and they are finally here, beautiful images of Mary's home, my lovely new friend who adores all things vintage. To briefly recap, I was introduced to Mary by my friend Lilius and was invited to see her amazing home back in the Summer, since my first visit I have been keen to return to her house and photograph it for you all to enjoy as well.
Since becoming friends with Mary we have met up a few times with Lilius and my other lovely friend Sarah, who is also a vintage fan and amazing crafter. We all get on so well together and really enjoy one anothers company, so much so that we will be meeting up on a regular basis to either create things together, visit places and generally enjoy spending time together doing what we love, creating and talking vintage. So we have decided to call ourselves the "Vintage Ladies" and I will be sure to blog about our escapades with you right here.
But just feast your eyes on the wonderful gems in Mary's home, her Kitchen is divine, the moment you step into her home you are constantly ooooing and aaahhrring at every turn...

You do really need several visits to truly take everything in, each time I have been I see something I missed the previous visit.
In the photo above Mary is busy making tea before we began our little tour of her home. Below, a few items stacked on top of Mary's kitchen dresser.
The tiles surrounding Mary's kitchen are to die for, so, so gorgeous, just take a look at the scrumptious soaps by her kitchen sink, pictured below....
After moving through the Kitchen and dining room, we then walked through the lounge, where this little fellow was resting below....
And on up to Mary's bedroom and attic rooms, which were full of truly scrumptious goodies, including this amazing sewing box, below, which I am extremely envious off.... I was simply drooling by this point...
Just cast your eyes on the array of trinkets and treasures below, there was so much to see at every turn.....

Below Sarah tries on a vintage lace collar, with a little help from Lilius! Mary's attic was crammed with gorgeous haberdashery cabinets and old suitcases jammed full of vintage lace, little tins and packets of vintage sewing memorabilia, old quilts and vintage fabrics.

So folks, I hope you've enjoyed your visit to Mary's house, courtesy of us Vintage Ladies... And Mary, if you're reading this, thank you so much for a fantastic day.. luv you lots xx
