Yay! I've Been Published.....

What a wonderful surprise I got through the mail this morning!!!  Sitting at my Studio Desk working on some new Brooch Designs, I watched the postman walk up the path, give me a wave and then post the latest edition of Somerset Studio Gallery at my door.  I knew I hadn't ordered it so it must mean only one thing.... I have something published in it!!  The lovely people at Stampington Publications always send a free copy if you have work published and it's great to see the envelope with those words "Congratulations you've been published".  So here it is, my Altered Circus Book.....
I was staggard when I saw I had six pages dedicate to it.... Marvellous!!  The book took me days to create, it was produced on very thick cardstock and I used many vintage circus images as well as some digital ones to create the book.

It was laid out beautifully in the magazine, the descriptions were spot on as I had designed the book to take you on a journey through the Circus doors and the description explained that beautifully.
There are lots of other stunning pieces of work in this publication so if you'd like to purchase it, you can do so here!  Thank you to the lovely people at Somerset Studio Gallery for including my work in this issue x

Vintage Ruler Photo Frames

I adore making these lovely frames, I have several of them dotted around my own home and they are always a talking point when people visit.  I have just uploaded some new frames to the Maygreen Fairies Shop, to include some lovely ruler prints, a vintage tape measure print and a pretty vintage music sheet version, you can purchase them here!
In addition I am very excited to be a part of a new workshop venture "Make It Yours Workshops", where I will be tutoring on some of my designs including these frames; To register for my Frame Workshop, which takes place on Tuesday 19th June in Buxted, East Sussex,  please click here.  To find out more about this new company and see the other exciting workshops that are available please visit "Make It Yours" here!
These frames will also be available at the up-coming Wealden Mid Summer Fair on the 14th, 15th & 16th June at the beautiful Hole Park in Rolvenden.  I have been hosting a stand at the Wealden Times Fair now for the last two years and they are a wonderful event to attend with over 150 stands selling beautiful contemporary and vintage home and gardenware, gifts and fashion, it's a fabulous day out not to be missed, for more information and advance tickets please visit here!
For the frames that I sell on my website I use a new base frame to work on, but a wonderful way to re-use old frames is to up-cycle a tired worn frame with a new design.  So keep your eyes peeled at charity shops for old frames to alter and remember if you need help on how to do this then please check out my workshop at the link above!

Pretty Nostalgic Magazine - First Issue!

If you love nostalgia, vintage style, upcycling, salvage hunting, vintage homes and brilliant British style, then this is the magazine for you.  This wonderful publication, Pretty Nostalgic, had it's debut issue this month and it is fabulous, to say the least!!  Pretty Nostalgic is a bi-monthly life and homestyle magazine (although the quality of this magazine feels and looks more like a book to me... scrumptious!).  The publication celebrates vintage, traditional and sustainable ways of living.
The team behind Pretty Nostalgic passionately support British producers, the magazine is packed with inspiration, and in their own words "It is a handbook for creative, curious and resourceful folk who yearn for a simple, stylish, sustainable lifestyle".
Maygreen Fairies is going to have the pleasure of stocking this handbook for sale, it will be available through the website and also at any fairs we attend.  Please feel free to contact me if you would like to purchase a copy.  The cost is £8 which I feel is a great price for a handbook that you can refer to again and again for it's ideas and inspiration, I know I'll be clocking up a library of these over the coming months, it is just too good for me to resist!
Just take a sneek peek through some of these pages, check out the glorious haberdashery information above, beautiful quality images and stories to sink into with a cuppa.
Please do not hesitate to visit their website for more information and to read through their great blog posts, you'll find them here!
