Christmas Open Studio Event!

This Thursday I am hosting an Open Studio Event where I teach workshops with my lovely friend Karen.... The Little White Studio will be opening its doors for a Mini Christmas Fayre.  Maygreen Fairies will have a stand at the Fair along with some other very talented makers, such as Sams Cupcake Kitchen, who create these fabulous "Sweet Trees" as well as scrumptious cupcakes! Mulled Wine, Tea or Coffee will also be on offer to wash down the cakes for a small donation to the Macmillan Cancer Research.

The Floral Collection will also have an array of stunning Christmas Wreaths (with twinkly lights) and garlands to decorate your home!

There will be handmade jewellery from Frances & Grace, Glass Angels from Paula Quelch and Handmade Jams, Pickles and Preserves from Wish End Farm.
And of course they'll be lots of Art to view by Karen and Amanda, as well as the Studio itself, with information on upcoming workshops for 2013.  For all the details on this Fayre, please visit The Little White Studio Blog Here!

The Kitsch & Stitch Fair goes all Christmassy!

Festive cheer was very much in the air yesterday at the Kitsch & Stitch Vintage & Handmade Fair... The weather was suitably frosty and crisp and the Cranbrook Vestry Hall was decked with lots of bells and holly... Ho, Ho, Ho!!!  There were shoppers-a-plenty all looking for that unusual, unique purchase to make a loved one's Christmas.
The Maygreen Fairies stand looked its usual whimsical self, with plenty of Captured Fairy Folk to catch the attention of passers by... they are always such a huge attention grabber for my stall... there's nothing like a Fairy in a Jar to get punters talking lol!!  Especially when they find out I can bottle a Son, Daughter of even Husband... that always gets a laugh.
There were so many fabulous stall holders this year, lots of regular faces, and boy did we have some fun!  Here is a sneek peek of some of the wonderful goodies that were available, and I must confess, I feel in love with these mice and had to give one a home...
Pretty Handmade Mice by the wonderful Marti Murchison

Wonderful, scrumptious home accessories, using reworked fabrics, linens and lace by the lovely Deborah Good of Pretty Goods
How gorgeous are these fabric Dogs & the little Rabbit on the right... There was so much to see!

Now I loved this idea by Sara Jane Murray of Home Front Vintage, a Beeswax Mouse modelled on the old sugar mice we used to get as children... Just adorable!
Sara's stall is one of my favourites she re-works ephemera beautifully to upcycle the old into new.

Mandi Mades pretty framed pillow art above
And there was some fabulous vintage too.... Here is a selection from the lovely Adrienne of Now & Then Vintage, she has some great pieces and displays them so well, just check out her teacup below

And last of all, but by no means least, is the gorgeous Jacquie Robinson of Kittys, she has a real kitschy mix of vintage finds and kitchenalia, I adore Jacquie, she also has her card designs at Not on The High Street, check them out!
And finally I just had to say a huge thank you to this lady below, she purchased the net petticoat from me the previous week at the Wealden Times Mid Winter Fair, and she very kindly wore it yesterday so I could see it on her in all her glory, its things like this that are wonderful for me to see, especially when the clients are so happy with their purchase!

Set Up and Ready to Go!

After a long day setting up at the Wealden Fair, my stand is now all ready and looking very festive and whimsical.  Lots of fairy lights and sparkle light up the stall and give a Christmassy atmosphere.

My Fairy Folk seem very at home hanging from this glittery tree, let's hope they don't fly off in the night!
As you enter my stand you can smell the lovely scent of Lavender, these little pillows are full of dried Lavender and would make lovely gifts this Christmas!

There are lots of Jewellery pieces on offer this year as well as my handmade hessian Gift Bags!

And now onto some of the other stall holders goodies, just check out these adorable handmade Christmas decorations.... gorgeous!

And I just love these mice and monkeys spilling out of the drawers, such a wonderful, colourful display of Christmas loveliness.
The Street Vendor style cafe look enchanting this evening just before I left, the lanterns gave such a magical glow to the room, it'll be heaving tomorrow with hungry shoppers.
I adore these handmade whimsical fairies and mice by Halinka's Fairies, you will find her right at the entrance to the Fair.

And check out these adorable houses at Kitty's stand, I love, love, love this stand there are always such wonderful home decor items to browse through, and Jacquie the stall owner is such a lovely lady, you must drop by her stall and say hello if you are at the Fair over the next three days.
So, that is just a sneek peek, and I really do mean, just a sneek peek at this years Fair, it's all set up now and ready to go so I hope to see some of you over the next few days.

A Fair in the Forest

Just gathering together the last remaining items for the Wealden Mid Winter Fair... it's set up day tomorrow, which I really enjoy, although looking at my Studio at the moment it is full of crates and boxes and the prospect of loading them all in the car tomorrow morning is daunting, but luckily this time I have my hubby on hand to help with the heavy stuff.
The Fair is held at Bedgebury Pinetum, in the grounds of Bedgebury Forest, which boasts the most complete collection of conifers in the World, so as you can imagine it's a wonderful place to hold a Christmas Fair.  There are over one hundred stall holders selling quality, unusual items from home decor, to gifts, decorations and food, it's a real feast for the eyes.
There are also workshops going on throughout the three days when you can make a pretty vintage brooch or learn to make your own confectionery to give as gifts this Christmas. Chefs from the team at Kent Cookery School will be demonstrating making sweet treats.  When you are ready to take a break from the pleasures of shopping there will be an array of foods on offer from Afternoon tea, to a pop up Gastro Pub and a Cafe Marquee with up market street type vendors from the Wild Food Catering Company, Spade & Spoon and Coffee Real.
And to add to the festive feel there will be lots of twinkly lights and of course the wonderful Carol Singers that wander through the Fair to entertain you.  So if you are able to make it please pop by the Maygreen Fairies stand to say hello, we'd love to see you!

Little Christmas Fancies

I created some of these hessian gift bags last year and they were a huge success, so much so that I have made more this year for the forth coming Christmas Fairs.  They make wonderful gift bags if you are giving money, gift vouchers or tickets as gifts this Christmas.
The Festive vintage images really give the pouches a vintage Christmas feel and the old lace adds a soft touch to the finished bag.  If you are planning to attend the Wealden Fair this coming week be sure to pop by and say hello.
