Something I Whipped Up Earlier!

I had a bit of free time and decided to decorate a wooden box bag that I'd had hanging around in my Studio area for ages. I also had a lovely Paper Whimsy Gothic Fairy Collage Sheet which I'd been wanting to create with but hadn't found the right project till now. So using an old Music Sheet Cover as the background I played around the with collage fairy till I got her just right and then layered the lot onto the box using plenty of Diamond Glaze as I went.... very easy and simple, but it produced a lovely result.

Sew Pretty!! Fabric Angels.....

I'm still busy churning out stock for the Craft Fairs I'm attending, and here are some little fabric Angels to hang around the home at Christmas. I'm hoping to produce alot more Fabric pieces in the future and have lots of ideas buzzing about which I want to create in the New Year when I will have more time once the Twins go to School full time.
As you can see, these Angels hang from a piece of ribbon and can be displayed in various places around the home, but I will also be producing Angels in the same style that can be displayed on a wooden stand, a bit more "shabby chic" in style!! So watch this space.

I've also got a pattern for some gorgeous fabric Angel wings that can be worn by children for "dressing up", I'm hoping to get time to produce a couple of these for a large Fair I'm attending at the beginning of December.
Making all this Christmassy Stock is really getting me in the Festive Mood!! Not to mention that the local Radio Station has started playing the odd Christmas Tune, so I've had that on in the background to help keep me going!!
Still got lots more to do, so better get on hadn't I!! Pop back soon for the next Festive Installment!

Latest Journals

Here are some of the recent Journals I have created for the up coming Christmas Fairs I am attending. All are covered in fabric with bits of lace trim and buttons. The metal title holders are beautiful and really set off the journals.
Inside each Journal has several cream pages to make notes on whatever you wish, or to simply hold mementoes or perhaps your collection of ATCs!

I wanted to create a Journal that may appeal to a Man also, so I put together the design below. The fabric used for this is gorgeous to touch, velvety and soft with attractive feathery trim dressing the side of the Journal.

First Love!!

Yesterday, one of my twin boys wanted his new school friend Lucy over for lunch, although he did have to fend his brother off occassionally, he did get to spend some really fun time with her. They went fairy hunting around the garden, as Lucy loves fairies, and this is the result of one of our photos.

Vintage Photo's Galore!! An Altered Artists Dream!!

Ohhhh my gosh!! I just had to share my latest purchase with you, I am soooo excited with it. I may have mentioned before that I have a friend who pops in to see me once a week at Oxfam, where I volunteer. My friend is an Antiques Dealer and he regularly attends auctions, and during one of his latest auctions he came across these wonderful old photo albums and thought of me.
So you can imagine my excitement when he walked through the door today with these gems to see if I was interested in them. One album is larger than the other and they both have damage to the exterior of the spine, but you'd expect this as they are so old. The larger album has a gorgeous metal clasp and both have beautiful designs on the leather covers. As you can see from the photo below, they also have glorious gold leaf pages (although the photos really don't do this justice).

When I opened the pages, not only was I greeted with the most stunning collection of vintage photo's, but alot of them we surrounded by beautiful vintage die cut borders, that were pretty beyond words.
The photos were varied ranging from young to old, men, women and children, even a few babies. I was over the moon to be in possession of such a treasure, and my mind was buzzing with the creative ideas I could produce if I scanned in these beauties.

I of course want to keep the albums intact and have them on display in my Studio Area as they are wonderful to look through and give me heaps of creative inspiration.

I am so pleased to be able to share my excitement with you, these truly are an Altered Artists Dream!!

Look how gorgeous these two little one's are..... The girl on the right is such a cutie pie!

And just take a look at this photo surround, it is so gorgeous, and the photo is amazing too, what beautiful clothes the girl is wearing.

Christmas Gift Tags

With Halloween out the way for another year, it's now time to get to grips with the forthcoming Christmas Fairs and prepare for my family Christmas at home. I'm busy making lots of Christmas bits for my stalls, and tags are just one of the items I have to offer. It's amazing how much a luxury gift tag can "dress" up a wrapped presant.
I love to mix up old vintage Christmas illustrations and die-cuts and give them a bit of a twist to create pretty tags.

The tag below is one of my best sellers, I also produce it without the wings and with bright red satin ribbon trim.
More Christmas goodies to come soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Oxfam Handmade for Haiti - The Final Figures Are In!!

All I can say is.... WOW!!! We were hoping to meet our target of £160.00 for this fundraising event, but we have exceeded our expectations and actually raised £350.00, which is fantastic! I want to say a HUGE THANKYOU to all of you who donated a handmade item for this event, without your help we would definitely not have exceeded our shop's target. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
