Fairies, Fairies, Everywhere!!

And here they are... all over the bird cages in my Garden Room!!! Gorgeous aren't they? Mischievous too!! You need to keep an eye on them. And if you'd like to give any of them a good home you can purchase them from me at this years Mid Winter Fair!

These pretty little Fae come in the form of magnets and they look great on a white background as it really shows off their transparent wings. So if you're a magnet collector and love displaying on your white fridge, then PERFECT! But if you're like me and just love pretty things, then dot them around the house, they make great conversation pieces with visitors to your home.

I do have a few for sale on my website, but I am saving most of them for the up coming Christmas Fair, but please do check back in December as any that don't sell will be up for re-homing on my website!

French Fashion Tags "Oh La La"

I have been stuck indoors for the past three days looking after my boys who are sick with a nasty virus, so whilst they have been huddled up under their duvets watching TV and sleeping, I have had the opportunity to get busy creating these little gems, in between giving the twins lots of cuddles of course.....

The vintage images used in these tags are from original illustrations that I have collected over the years in old magazines. The whole collection of fashion images can be purchased on a CD of images in my website store.
The tags look fantastic dressing up a wrapped parcel, or you could give the tags as a gift in themselves. I just like to hang them around the house, for that vintage feel!

The tag below is a personal favourite of mine, it's a great tag for a Baby Shower Gift, I do have a card that uses the same image for pregnancy congrats!

The little corset tags are really cute with stamped french wording added to them, such as Merci and Mme.

All tags are available to purchase at the upcoming Wealden Mid-Winter Fair, a select few will also be available in my online store.

A Bit of R & R... "Ritz & Retail Therapy"

This weekend just gone my husband and I celebrated our Wedding Anniversary and spent the weekend in London. We dined at a Burlesque Club on the Friday Evening PROUD CABARET
which was so much fun, very cheeky!! Shopped on the Saturday, followed by a Comedy Club and then Japanese meal, and on the Sunday had Champagne Afternoon Tea at the Ritz. It was such a lovely weekend and I thought I'd blog about it as I took some lovely photo's and guessed that some of my overseas followers would enjoy seeing photos of The Ritz in particular.

The Ritz is as you imagine, very over the top with lots of gilt, swags and tails!!! But beautiful all the same. The Afternoon Tea was wonderful, lots of pretty little sandwiches and cakes to munch on along with a long list of teas to choose from, all served by very attentive waiters.

Seven years ago my hubby and I took our Honeymoon at Raffles Hotel in Singapore and then on to Borneo. I must say that although the Ritz was wonderful and I would most definitely go again, Raffles had the edge with it's Colonial style and wonderful history.

Our shopping day was spent at Camden Lock, we both used to frequent Camden regularly before we moved to the Country so it was nice to go back to one of our old haunts.

There is lots and lots to see in Camden, particularly vintage items, which you all know I love!

The trip was a lovely celebration for us, but also quite nostalgic for me, as I had worked in London for twelve years after leaving school, so hubby and I spent some of our weekend visiting places I used to hang out, including my old workplace. Lots had changed as it was over fifteen years since I stopped work in London and I felt myself quite teary on occasion, especially when I walked past my old workplace which is no longer trading.

On the Saturday evening we had a super Japanese Meal, my favourite!! Lots of sushi, dumplings and tempura... yummmmm!

Below is a photo of a small church we happened to walk past, it was tucked away behind several buildings and was so beautiful we just had to photograph it.

And here we are at our first nights venue.. the Burlesque Club, a fantastic evening with superb food, cocktails and wine... a must if you are visiting London!!!!

Now we're home, back to reality, and with our boys, whom we missed dreadfully!

Tattered Hearts

Each year I create fabric hearts for my Christmas Sales, but this year I wanted to change them slightly and give them a more "shabby" feel, so I created the "Tattered Hearts" range. These hearts are cut out roughly and stitched on the outside to give that tattered effect.
I have designed these vintage style hearts with old lace and vintage images, they look lovely hung on vintage pieces of furniture!

And below are examples of more Christmassy versions of the hearts using vintage buttons and Christmas fabrics. I've still got lots more to make but these are just a few examples that will be available to purchase at the Wealden Mid-Winter Fair this December.
